Birds of Paradise Project (2013)

This project was based on/inspired by my sisters’ and my own memories and experiences of growing up in Papua New Guinea, and the country’s issues and problems that are quite important and personal to me as a result of those fond memories and experiences. This place was my childhood home, and I still deeply love everything about New Guinea, so of course I care about and are affected by the issues and injustices I see and hear about.

Images featuring the lion girl are based on personal memories of living in New Guinea. The others were inspired by issues plaguing the nation that I want to address.
